Life Skills Victoria offers pre-accredited courses tailored for adults with an intellectual disability. Our programs are thoughtfully designed to support the development of independence and practical skills - helping participants prepare for employment or move on to further education.

Pre-Accredited Courses

    Literacy and Numeracy

    This course assists people to develop basic skills and knowledge in reading, writing and digital skills to participate in day-to-day life. You will also develop skills in searching the internet, setting up an email address, and searching for employment.

    Mainstreet Art

    Mainstreet Art is a pre-accredited course that is designed as both an art program and a microbusiness workshop. Runs weekly on Friday from 10:00am - 2:00pm.

    Ready For Hospitality

    A course for people who are thinking about entering the world of hospitality. It is designed to develop your knowledge and practical skills through discussions, workshops and practical hands-on learning. It will help you decide if you really want to continue in the hospitality industry, and if so, in what direction.

    Cooking Towards Independence

    Get ready to master practical skills from the basic of food handling to diverse cooking methods and even creating your own recipe book using digital tools. During our sessions you'll receive guidance to craft recipes, construct shopping lists and safely navigate supermarkets.

    This course creates our monthly Life Skills Newsletter which is created by participants, for participants, their families, and the broader community. It's more than just a newsletter—it's a platform to share stories, celebrate achievements, and build stronger connections through engaging content.  Whether covering inspiring participant journeys, community events, or practical life tips, this project encourages creativity, confidence, and collaboration.

    Coffee hub

    This course will assist people to develop the necessary skills, practical numeracy, customer service, knowledge, and confidence to actively participate in a workplace in a practical setting.

    Self-Advocacy

Specialised Courses

  • Barista 1-day Training

    This course will give you the skills for coffee making, presentation and safety tips, plus you will receive your certificate on the same day. This course is open to the general public.
