Adult, Community and Further Education (ACFE)
Through the ACFE Board, the Victorian Government provides funding to community-based organisations, known as Learn Local organisations, to deliver education and training programs to a broad range of Victorians over compulsory school-leaving age – young people, older people, people with special needs, people from diverse cultural backgrounds – with a special focus on people who have had limited prior access to education.
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
The NDIS is the new way of providing support for Australians with disability, their families and carers. As an insurance scheme, the NDIS takes a lifetime approach, investing in people with disability early to improve their outcomes later in life.
Disability Services Commissioner (DSC)
DSC works with people with a disability to resolve complaints about disability service providers, and they work with disability service providers to improve outcomes for people with a disability.
Human Rights Commission
The Commission was established in 1986 by an act of the federal Parliament. They are an independent statutory organisation and report to the federal Parliament through the Attorney-General. Their vision is for human rights for everyone, everywhere, everyday. Their mission is to lead the promotion and protection of human rights in Australia.
Centrelink
Centrelink delivers a range of government payments and services for retirees, the unemployed, families, carers, parents, people with disabilities, Indigenous Australians, and people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and provides services at times of major change.
Department of Families Fairness and Housing (DFFH)
The Department is responsible for child protection, prevention of family violence, housing, disability, multicultural affairs, LGBTIQ+ equality, veterans, and the offices for Women and Youth.
Department of Education
The Department supports and provides a range of learning and development opportunities for Victorian children, young people and adults.
